KATHMANDU, May 24: Rastriya Prajantra Party (RPP) has decided that the Constituent Assembly deadline should be extended only after political consensus.
Making public the party’s decision public, Chairman Pashupati Shamsher Rana said national consensus should be forged for the drafting of a constitution on the basis of national and international democratic values and a calendar has to be charted.
The weapons of People’s Liberation Army (PLA) should be handed over to the state, PLA fighters should be brought under the Special Committee and a calendar has to be made to vacate the PLA camps, he said.
The meeting also stressed for the return of the seized property and dismantling paramilitary structure of YCL and maintained that individual standard and interest should be the basis of army integration and rehabilitation instead of group entry.
It called for integration of 4,500 PLA combatants at the most, rehabilitation of those who will not be integrated into security bodies and integration of those who meet the standard criteria.
