  Himalayan Tiger bites dust

REPUBLICA

KATHMANDU, Feb 26: Golden Cine Professional Wrestling Show was held at the Dasharath Stadium on Saturday. The event featuring 17 wrestlers, including seven foreigners and 10 Nepalis, was attended by a huge audience. The foreigner wrestlers included three female wrestlers.

Himalayan Tiger, the most popular Nepali wrestler lost to Big Vito of America.

The dramatic bout between Tiger and Vito took a dramatic turn after two foreign wrestlers came inside the ring and tried to thrash Tiger. But both Vito and Tiger thrashed and threw them outside the ring.

Meanwhile, the match fixture came on the stage and a tag team match comprising the team of Vito and Tiger versus the two foreign wrestlers was held. Tiger-Vito team won the tag team bout.

But the previous single match began promptly after the tag team match ended, and as Tiger was celebrating the victory, Vito pinned him cunningly from back. Tiger was unable to recover before the referee finished counting three.

Tiger, however, has vowed to beat Vito in another bout scheduled to be held in Pokhara on March 4.

Other foreigner wrestlers were from Japan, Australia, the UK and Canada.

The event was jointly organized by Professional Wrestling Entertainment Championship Nepal, Golden Cine Entertainers Privet Limited and Nepal Players and Instructors Association.

The event was inaugurated by Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
