TANAHUN, Oct 7: The status of Devendra Poudel, office secretary of the UCPN (Maoist), Lamjung, is still unknown a week after he went missing. Devendra has been out of contact ever since he left Bensisahar for Dumre, Tanahun last Thursday saying a friend had called him.
His father Thakur Prasad is now seeking help from human rights activists, media, political parties and civil society to seek release of his son after the police and Maoists failed to trace him. Though Devendra is suspected to have been kidnapped, his family has not received any ransom call yet.
“We have found witnesses who saw him boarding a vehicle for Dumre but no one has seen him getting off the vehicle in Dumre,” said Thakur Prasad who is also a member of the Maoist district committee and also involved in the farmers´ organization of the party.
