KATHMANDU, Aug 3: Gaurav Thapa, the son of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) President Ganesh Thapa has sponsored $ 300 for the Gyaljen Lama Award set up by goalnepal.com. Thapa handed the fund over to goalnepal.com CEO Bikram Thapa on Tuesday.

Lama, an eighth grade student of Mangaldeep Secondary School, had died while playing inter-school football at Chyasal on July 5. According to goalnepal.com, from this year the award carrying a purse of Rs 5,000 will be given each year to the most promising U-19 player.

Thapa is also the manager of Competitions Department in Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

Meanwhile, AFC Vision Asia Manager Purushottam Kattel contributed Rs 1,760 for the award.
