  Construction For Nat'l Games To Finish In 4 Days

    DHANGADI, Feb 17: National Sports Council (NSC) has said the construction of infrastructure for the Sixth National Games will finish within four days.

"Athletics track, playground, parapet and all other infrastructure will be ready in four days," said Arun Upadhyaya, chief of construction and maintenance department of NSC.

    KATHMANDU, Feb 16: Gaurab Bikram Shah and Purna Man Shakya scored 38 points to lead the Ncell Amateur Golf Leauge here at Gokarna Golf Club. Gaurab Shah won the first edition by defeating Purna Man Shakya on the count back.

This league will be played over four-months (February - May).

 
  Paragliding Tournament From Sunday

    POKHARA, Feb 16: Nepal Airsports Association (NAA) is organizing the 13th edition of Open Paragliding Tournament in Pokhara next week with the aim of promoting adventure sports. National and international paragliders are gearing up for the five-day event that will kick off in Sarangkot, Pokhara on Sunday.

The organizer, NAA, informed during a press meet on Thursday that altogether 150 paragliders from India, Germany, France, Russia, Bulgaria, Japan, South Korea and Canada are participating in the annual event.

 
  Birgunj Seals Extra-time Win Over Munal

    SIMARA, Feb 16: Birgunj Youth Academy registered a 2-1 extra-time win over Munal Club of Jhapa on Thursday to book its berth in the quarterfinals of the Magic Moments Third Simara Gold Cup Football Tournament being held in Simara, Bara.

Nishan Nepali scored the decider beating an offside trap in the second minute of the added 30 minutes after the regulation time had ended in a 1-1 draw.

 
  Six Players Share Lead In Chess

    KATHMANDU, Feb 16: Six players, including FM Manish Hamal, shared the lead with six points each on Thursday after completion the seventh round of the NECOS Nation-wide Chess Tournament being held in the capital.

Along with Hamal, former national champion Nabin Tandukar, Ganesh Man Duwal, Rajan Puri, Rijendra Rajbhandari and Shyam Sundar Shrestha have also scored six points apiece after the sixth and seventh round matches on Thursday.
